Description

Color version of my FF2 Heroes collage, picture number 9 out of 40 for my FF Wall.
Black and white version: [link]

From left to right, the characters are...
In the top row: Cid, Josef, Scott, and Ricard.
In the middle row: Minwu, Hilda, Leila.
In the bottom row: Gordon, Guy, Maria, Firion, and Leonhart.
And in the bottom left corner is Paul.

Firion: Ah, Firion... FF's first named hero. FF's first hero that actually has a personality and backstory. FF's first badass...
So yeah, I've got Firion dressed in his Dissidia outfit, striking his signature pose. Man, he sure does look angry, don't he? I'd be angry too if my home was destroyed and my parents were killed.

Maria: FF's first female lead, Maria is criticized for not having a personality. I don't believe that one bit. Am I the only one who can see depth in every character?
Surprisingly, even though she's the female lead, there's no romantic relationship between her and Firion, as they are half-siblings.

Guy: The "Special" person of the FF series. Guy was raised by animals, and thus, can speak with them. When he tries to speak English, Guy talk like caveman.
Guy's a cool character though. He never gets angry or worried, as he always knows that things will turn out okay.

Leon: FF's first Dark Knight, Leonhart was the sole prototype for both Squall and Seifer of FF8.
For Squall: Leonhart's name, as well as his angsty, introverted personality.
For Seifer: His hairstyle, and his role. Leon starts the game in your party, but eventually becomes the main villain's knight. By the end of the game, he's on your side again, but he goes to live apart from you.
There's a really cool fanfiction by Bluehairedman about Leon, too: [link]

Hilda: Princess Hilda of Fynn, aka your boss. Although she isn't playable, she is definitely present in FF2, as she alone issues out your orders and missions, and must be rescued at one point in the game as well. She was once Scott's fiancee, but by the end of the game, ends up with Scott's brother, Gordon.

Minwu: FF's first named white mage, Minwu is just plain awesome. He joins your party early in the game knowing every White Magic spell in the game at very high levels. You could've breezed through the game in a flash if he'd stayed, but sadly he's only there for the first dungeon. Later in the game, he's responsible for the party obtaining the Ultima spell, which made its first appearance in FF2.
Minwu also stars in his own lead role in FF2's sequel, "Soul of Rebirth".

Josef: FF's first named monk, Josef is also very cool. He only joins you for one dungeon, but it's enough to enjoy his bare-fisted might. Josef is also the first character in the series to sacrifice himself to save your party. Fortunately, he makes a comeback in "Soul of Rebirth".
Josef's story can be heard in FF9, when Garnet first meets Ramuh.

Gordon: Gordon starts off as a coward who runs away from the war, leaving his brother for dead. However, he eventually comes to grips with himself and joins your party for a total of three dungeons. When the King of Fynn dies, he chooses Gordon as his successor, who ends up with Hilda by the end of the game.

Leila: Argh! FF's first female pirate, matey! She tries to trick you by offering you a ferry ride to Deist, but then tries to mug you with her pirate crew. After you beat her crew senseless, Leila does the honorable thing and gives herself up. But the party forgives her, and Leila joins your party for the majority of the game's dungeons.
Leila is also very, very cool.

Ricard: YES! Ladies and gentlemen... may I present... Ricard Highwind: History's First Dragoon!!! You first meet Ricard in the stomach of Leviathan (making its debut), which had swallowed him. After learning that the Palamecian Empire wiped out his entire kingdom (by poisoning its water), Ricard vowed revenge on the emperor. After the Emperor returns from Hell, Ricard holds him off while the party escapes, sacrificing himself.
However, Ricard also makes a comeback in "Soul of Rebirth".

Scott: FF's first ever (human) character that dies before the player's eyes. Scott was a Prince of Kashuan, and was Hilda's fiance, but he was attacked by the Empire and fatally wounded. Poor Scott never got much chance to develop, as he dies at the very beginning of the game, before the first dungeon, even. Until the release of "Soul of Rebirth" that is, where he reappears as a playable character.

Paul: The series' first named thief, the "Greatest Thief in the World" may not be playable, but he does offer support and comic relief throughout the game. Paul's most memorable scene involves him pulling a "Solid Snake", tapping the walls of a jail cell to divert a guard, and then sneaking up from behind and backstabbing him. Mwahaha.

Cid: And last but certainly not least, Final Fantasy's very first CID comes with the spiky blonde hairdo, an airship, everything. He starts the game as a ferryman, offering safe passage to any location on Gaia, for a price. Cid gave up his entire life for his airship; his job, his family, everything. He even uses the money he makes as a ferryman to remodel and improve his airship. Talk about obsessed...

Okay, just one more FF2 pic to go: the FF2 Villains collage, featuring Borghen and Mateus!

EDIT: Okay, I re-uploaded it. I think it looks much better now, don't you?
